I have just started to contact Mayfield Clinic about who to see there.  They apparently do not have a neurologist but work closely with Aring Neurology. I have debated about who to see neurologist vs neurosurgeon as my symptoms at this time I don't believe warrant surgery but I'm not a doctor either..... However,  I would like to see a doctor that could monitor the situation because of related issues.   I have seen Dr. Tobler's name on a list of chiari doctors, but have not heard any personal experiences concerning him.. I work with a girl who has a friend that recently had surgery at  Mayfield for chiari and she had Dr. Zuccarello and was pleased with him.

It's nice to read here that Dr. Tew may continue to consult on chiari cases.  I heard him speak once and he seems very knowledgeable and he has done many chiari surgeries in the past.  I have been to Cleveland Clinic 2x, first visit didn't go so well,  second was better but they didn't feel chiari was causing all my problems but yet didn't pursue helping me either.  I have read many good things concerning Mayfield Clinic that is why I have chosen to pursue seeing someone there. I live in Ohio and it is only a 2 hour drive for me as well.   I hope your visit to Mayfield will prove helpful for your daughter.  Anxious to hear how your visit goes.

Sorry I put the wrong members name up...I was thinking Cleveland Clinic not Mayfield...we do have a few members that went there already but I can not recall the names ..I will try the search this community for older threads to see who may have had surgery there.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

We do have a member that has been to the C.Clinic in Ohio and may be able to shed light on the clinic for Chiari...not sure about this particular Dr as I am not familiar with the name...send a PM (private message ) to ChiariWolf.....

I will be there next Monday.  Though he retired, the Dr who will be consulting on my case is Dr. Tew. Another Dr will be over taking my case once I get there and have my first appointment with. But I haven't heard of the Dr. You are planning to see, the Mayfield Clinic has been very helpful over the past 4 months with me. The answered my emails, all my questions, as well as put time in with talking to my PCP so he could order the test I need in order for my visit to them.

Is that in Cincinnati? I have never heard of that doctor (I have tried to find one here in Ohio, but of course the best left practice). I hope it goes well for you. Good luck.
