Hearing issues?

what does this relate to. My ears have always had that full feeling along with pain and lots of sensativity to flying , metro, water, music, ect. But now my dad keeps yelling at me that I'm being way too loud and the tvs to loud and I just can't seem to hear.  What's this about? Has any body else experienced this? Thanks.

Unfortunately, it seems to go with the territory.  I, too, have that full feeling, along with pain sometimes that feels like red-hot ice picks have been stabbed into my ear canals.  Someone can be standing 10ft away from me and talking to me from when I'm running water in our kitchen sink and I've no clue what they've just said.  I'm constantly asking folks to repeat something they've said!  As for the loudness issue, my son says I'm no longer allowed to talk on the phone in the living room as I wake him up very early in the morning when I'm doing so, lol.  I believe that one of the consequences of having Chiari Malformation can be permanent hearing loss.  It would be something to discuss with your doctor, neurologist, or neuro-surgeon.

I too have this problem...the ice pick jabbing in my ear pain...ringing, buzzing and fullness like my ears r going to pop but never do....I am getting more ear aches as well...that is new...I only had them b4 if out on a windy day....If I had a scarf or some kind of hat covering my ears I was ok....now I get that same feeling even in the house...

And since nerves can get damaged, it is possible I have damage to the ones that affect my ears..I have not had testing done to check.

I have always been told I spoke loudly....not sure if chiari is y....but, I would lean toward it being a yes : D

The nerve in my left ear "shakes" all the time, night and day.  It drives me crazy.

I also have some hearing problems, I am not sure if they are directly related to chiari or not but the ear nose and throat doctor thinks so. But the not being able to hear does not bug me near as badly as the ringing in my ears! Hope you find an answer to this!
