Hi. I just took a look at your photos.  sorry you are having troubles.  I don't think the mysterious black spot is the syrinx the report is referring to.  There is a very small syrinx (white) in the spinal cord from C3 to C7.  Maybe that black spot is scar tissue like Selma mentioned.

  So it was a syrinx...wow....I am surprised since it was not a white glowing  shape..it was so dark....glad you have some answers....when  do you see the Dr to discuss the best course of treatment?
