How long before patch feels normal?

I'm 5 days post op, so far so good. I am off the narcotics. Right now the annoying stiff feeling of the patch/insision is bothering me. About how long before it starts to feel more normal? I can't turn my head more than a few degrees either side right now. Iv also got that very annoying post op depression, but that had to be expected as my sister and mother both get super depressed for a few weeks after surgery.

I remember going to my 6 week follow up and still having about 50% of my ROM in looking side to side.  It took me about 10 weeks to get most of it back.  It was a little tight  I had returned to work parttime at 10 weeks and remember ROM was pretty good.  I am out 2 years and my ROM continues to be normal.

As Selma states doing basic ROM exercises really help  Just listen to your body.

Hi...it is going to take time..how long depends on you and how your body heals.....did your Dr give you exercises to help get ROM going?

The more you move the better you are going to feel and you need to move in the correct way......

I am convinced that the exercises not only helped prevent scar tissue and my muscles from getting tight but help me prevent more surgery.

Depression is pretty typical post op.....when it comes time wise also depends on the individual....but try to stay positive and relax.....this is all "normal" so far.
