Just home :)

They were quick to kick me out today. Although am glad because I was on a ward with this woman who never shut up and with a stinking headache that's all you need!!!!

Surgery on thurs 24th at 3pm and kicked out 27th at 8pm. Too soon? My NS was very impressed with my recovery and said it has been the best he has seen yet!

Not sure what to do with the wound though? Noone

Wow that is fast, but it sound's like you are doing pretty good.  I also suggest the Jonhnson baby shampoo.  I was advised to use it also and keep it dry.  Also as Selma also said.  Do a little walking each day.  It will help getting your strength back, also please, please not lifting even if you feel like it.  Also I took milk magnesia to help with bowel movement's.  You don't want to push or put pressure on your sight.  Taking it really easy is the most important part.  There is no place like home.  You can get a lot more rest and more quiet there.  Your in my chirian prayer's.

Like with all surgeries, if you start to feel you need to see a doc asap, go to the er. And you should call to found out how to take care of you wound and to have some advise on exercise you need to do not to develop prety bad aderance or scar tissu (I got bad ones from a chest surgery!)

Take care and keep us posted you are in my prayers.

Goodness, well I have a chart on exercises u should do in addition to walking...u need to move ur neck a certain way so u do not develop scar tissue.

Read the comments posted below the chart to see which exercises I was told to do , not all are for those with chiari.

As far as wound care, I was told not to dye my hair for 6 months, to keep the area clean, dry, use Johnson and Johnson Baby shampoo...other shampoo dries out the skin and causes it to pull.

I was also told to cover it when outside to avoid the sun....this time if yr over here it is not a big issue as it is winter.

No lifting, bending even to pick up a piece of lint!! My Drs exact words...lol...

Do see the Health Pages for more do's and don'ts.

I feel ready just wondered what anyone thought - it's good to be home.

I have no excercises or dos or don't or nothing! Health service in England is free ... Need I say more.

Had no advice on wound care - but am guessing just general keeping clean etc!
