Question about pain management

After surgery I will be going to a rehab facility.  I have been in this facility before.  I have respiratory depression and anything that makes me sleepy or relaxed makes me have trouble breathing.  I have to "think about" breathing.  It will be fine in the hospital because they will have monitors on me, but I won't have those monitors in rehab.  How long did you have to take muscle relaxers after surgery?

I know there r monitors for infants with breathing issues...so there should be something for adults...and they r for use in the home.

Ask ur drs about this...there should be something u can use especially post op.

Hi,,,I took valium to help relax my muscles for a few weeks and then only if I had a flare.....which was not often.

U should be able to get a home monitor if u have this issue...have u asked about it?
