You should be able to get any of your medical records under the Freedom of Information act

Thank you ladies, Im not sure if we can have our reports here in the UK but i will defiantly ask for them will be nice to see what they are hiding lol xx
Good luck! Chiari is very frustrating! I have problems with my arms and no syrix, after my first surgery the arms felt better and the headaches were GONE! I have to go back in for another surgery to correct a leaking patch but when things came back I knew something was wrong! I can say though that it helped both my headaches and my arms and I feel strongly that they will get better again after the 2nd surgery. It is very hard to get Dr.'s to do all the tests! As Selma said, always get your own reports, that allows you to read them or to send them off for other opinions! The flow is hard to tell because position can make it better or worse, you just need someone that can really study your images and know what they are looking at! Good luck with the study, hopefully they can help you!
Well it all depends on who is reading ur MRI results/films....these r their opinions...and if not well educated on chiari they may say it is "normal" when in fact u have chiari only bcuz they were taught very old info and that is not correct......
Always ask for copies of MRI's and the reports so u can get a 2nd opinion.......
Restricted CSF flow and over crowding...issues as to how the odontoid is leaning....can affect flow...and sometimes it depends if u r standing or lying down....not everyone needs to stand for their obstruction to be seen, but some do....
A syrinx can be found newhere in the spine, lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine...most Drs only check the cervical spine. When they do the lumbar, they can rule out tethered cord....which could also affect how u feel....
