Heavy tounge after surgery

Hello everyone;) I'm not sure how to ask this but here goes:)
I want to know if anyone after their decompression surgery felt like their tounge is weird? I ask because I see my daughter and her tounge to me seems like it is heavy or something, I'm not sure how to discribe it but I think it is like when the dentist uses novicaine and your mouth and tounge make you talk weird?
She can talk, It fustrates her when you or the nurses ask her to repeat what she said. If anyone knows what I'm referring to, please advice.God bless:)

Hi,

I haven't had the surgery for chiari but a couple of weeks ago I did have surgery for another issue. About 4-5 days after my surgery I also had problems with my tongue. It felt swollen and had white all over it. My dr diagnosed me over the phone and said I had thrush from all the antibotics so he gave me tablets to dissolve in my mouth. Within 4 days or so my tongue felt better but it is still a bit red and burns a bit. I don't know if it could be from the medication, I have also read that being constipated from the surgery can cause your tongue some problems too.

Hopefully some of the zipperheads will pop in and let you know if it could be related just to the decompression surgery but for the heck of it have a look at it and see if there is any white stuff hanging around in her mouth.

Hope that helps a bit.
