I just got a lawyer, so now i get to let him jump thru the ssdi hoops. lol. Now he can have that headache.....
i was denied at first but within the 30 days i appealed and was approved in 5 months don't get caught up in the game it will drive you crazy
thank you all for listening to me vent. i really needed it.
Exactly and well said. The middle class doesn't seem to get a fair shake.
I hope you find a lawyer. Here in Mi. they don't receive anything unless you win the case so I hope this hellp's a little.
i have tried everything from state aid to clinical trials. I live in southern california and honestly it ***** to be middle class family with no insurance. We fall in the cracks. even county hospitals tell me that they will not do it because i am not terminal. so ssdi is my last resort. unless my husband quits his job, we become homeless and we have lost everything. that is the only way state aid will help us. i am going to be getting a hold of lawyers tomorrow until i find one that will help me.
I know your flustration. I was also denied and I have worked 33 yrs of my life. I went to a dr to a evalutation and he told me before leaving. "I don't know if you will be denied or not, but if you do. Get a Lawyer and fit". He also said there are so many people who are trying for SSI right now so they have to weed out the one's who really need it. I actually asked my NS about this so he stated it in my paper work so my husband and I did go to a lawyer and he is handling the process of denial letter. It does take a long time, but I suggest you get a lawyer. I received my letter stating it can take up to 20 month's to get a hearing in front of a judge. Also if the lawyer win's my case he will and can get 25 percent of what is in back pay. As my husband and I said. We don't care about that. I just want some of the money back that I paid in all through these year's. That is our right as working indivduals. Get a lawyer, and fit. If you appeal it within 60 day's I believe you will get reto from when you first file. Apply for SSI is just as much of a struggle as getting our dx'd of Chairi. Just keep being persistant and thing's will work out for you. Wish you the best, but get a hold of a lawyer. As I said I did get a lawyer and he told me he hasn't lost a case so I have high hopes. I hope this eases your mind a little. As someone above said. We have to go through all the loop's before getting what we deserve.
You have probably explored all options. But, just in case... Have you checked with a regional University Hospital? I had my entire surgery paid for, being a low-income resident of my state.
start now it could take a very long time. i just want the medical so i can get the surgery before the damage is permanent. i know there are no guarantees with the brain decompression surgery, but anything would bee better than what i have now..
I have a cousin that finally qualified with fibro. She applied three times. After the third try, the judge that awarded told her that he couldnt believe she was denied twice before. She was told by another individual that you have to continue to apply, as the denial is just part of the game they play. So she didnt give up, and was finally awarded. She and her husband are trying to talk me into applying since once you do get awarded, they have to pay back from the application submission up to 2 years...I think. I am still waiting to see if my degenerative discs in neck will continue to decline therefore making it impossible to work again before trying. They think I'm crazy and swear that with my conditions I could qualify......still pondering.
Same here, I started working at 11 babysitting, then worked with working papers when I was of age....so, to be denied when we pay into something is frustrating and aggravating at the same time.
I know with time and patience we will get this, so push forward : )
I have a neighbor who has an 11 year old boy with ADHD. That is his only medical or mental problem and he now receives SSDI. His mom gets $760.00 a month and FULL medical for him. He has never worked a day in his life. I am 43 years old and i have been working since i was 15. And i get denied SSDI. I am so pissed right now.
Hi...I have yet to apply for SSID, but I did apply for LTD which I paid into for 15 yrs, and was denied....what is it for if when u can not work? sigh
I am going to get another dx confirmed so I have something besides chiari that I am treated for, so it is easier to get classified as disabled...weird to even say that....then I will go to SSID and LTD will have to pay me retro to when I first applied, there is no way for me to fight the LTD being denied as our GOV enacted a law ERISA that is relativity new that there r not enuff informed lawyers and in order to fight it , it becomes a Federal case which will cost more to fight then I would get...so I have to wait until I can get this other dx and SSID to collect on ins I paid for...
And we thought finding a Dr to get a dx was hard......
