I know I have spinal stinosis too, many of us do...it may be the chiari or EDS...as I have both, so I am not sure which....but I am sure it plays a role....not all with Chiari have stinosis of ne kind...but there r many that do.
Could this be related to chiari? I was dx with chiari 13mm herniation and have to go for an mri that last s 3 to 4 hrs
Foramina (pleural of foramen) r the openings in the vertebrae that the nerve roots have 2 pass thru 2 innervate muscles, organs, etc. The nerve roots r extensions of the spinal cord and become pressed on by the stenosis (the opening is made smaller from boney overgrowth). Basically, the hole that the nerves pass thru r 2 small and the nerves get crunched. Central spinal stenosis is the same thing only it's the bone around the spinal cord that is narrowing.
