Ongoing pain after surgery

I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and an astrocytoma brain in early December 2016. I was herniated at a 16mm by the time it was discovered. I had surgery in mid Feburary 2017 and have not had a pain free day since the day of the operation. I've followed my NS and neurologist recommendations to the exact period, but still no results. Fast forward to June 2017. I was in San Diego, CA visiting family and had a gran mal seizure the night prior to flying back to my home state of Florida. My NS decided that night of the seizure, it would be a good idea to move my surgery date a month forward to remove the tumor from my right frontal lobe. That surgery seems to be healing fine. I'm more concerned about my neck and the disabling migraines, fatigue, and weakness that are still happening after the surgery. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you have any advice? My insurance is through the VA and they refuse to provide any kind of pain relief medication besides ibuprofen. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
I am so sorry to hear you are not doing well post op.....but it can sometimes take time to recover from this surgery especially if you have any related conditions.....

Also do you know what all was done during your decompression....laminectomy, dura plasty ...?

And what other related conditions do you have?

Did you do neck exercises post op?

What were your post op instructions and what do you do on a daily basis and at what point post op did you resume these activities?
