Where are the lumps located on the side of her neck- are they midway down or are they up closer to her skull? Does anyone know if a CSF leak would that have to be located near the skull or can that accummulate on other parts of the neck?
I have similar lumps and have had them since I was a little girl...I did a post about them here a few months ago and found that other Chiarians had similar ones. My docs have always said swollen lymph nodes, but they never completely go away (like the size of a small pea) and sometimes get quite big (like a grape).
I wonder if your daughter's body is just fighting hard against the trauma that the surgery causes your body and her lymph nodes are working overtime...I hope and pray that's what it is. But I would definitely monitor it & let the NS know.
You & your daughter are in my prayers!
I would keep an eye on this lump. When I had a leak mine started out to be a little lump, but it felt like when you touched it like a balloon. If it keeps getting bigger please call the NS. As for now I would have her lay down and just take it easy. This could help it to go down my itself. Wishing you the best today.
Linda :)
Hi.,...there r several things this could be....it could be a reaction to meds she was on, or it could be a CSF leak.....
