Hi...I also had my heart fully checked out...many of us may have thyroid issues and GERD/acid reflux that could be part of what is ailing u.
Do see ur PCP and ask some questions as u do not always have heart burn with GERD.
Unfortunately this is chiari related.

I have gotten some great info on this site. I have found a doctor with experience on Chiari in the Boston area. Unfortunately not till the end of May. Better than nothing as I have received nothing from my last two doctors. So confusing, I don't want to read more into it as not all symptoms maybe chiari. Can I ask if anyone has had chest pain in the between the breastbone and tenderness above the breast? I had this a few years back and was tested for heart problems. I did 9.5 minutes on the tread mill, so I guess not the heart. It hurts sometimes to breath to deeply or at times with movement.
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
Not all with chiari will be a surgical candidate, it goes to some of the issues Ray noted in his reply...and what symptoms u r having and how the chiari is affecting ur overall health.
An obstruction of CSF will cause a health threat if left untreated and it all depends on how big an obstruction u have.
Do use the list Ray added on his thread, please note this list is for u to research and is not offered as a referral.U need to find the dr that is right for u.

If Chiari is causing problems in your everyday life or if your Neurosurgeon feels you have problems such as a CSF obstruction or a related Syringomyelia that would be solved or improved by surgery then they will recommend surgery, ultimately surgery will be your decision. If however the Doctors decide you are not a surgical candidate then your condition should be monitored with regular MRI to check for changes. The problem most have when we are diagnosed is we are dealing with doctors who have little or no experience of CM.You need to find a NS with good experience of CM.
We have a list of Doctors who people here have recommended however you should research any doctor you choose. It would be wise to get a second opinion as well.
