Post shunt placement

I swear I posted this already but I guess not.   Glad to see some things don't change (cough memory still stinks).   The surgery went well and I can already see improvements in my pain.   I however dis not expect to feel this bad.  It wasn't as simple a I thought it was going to be.  The worst pain at the abdominal site.  So if any one ever has to get a shunt it isn't too terrible just don't expect to bounce back in a day or two.

Thank u again for recomending this doctor I am so very greatful to finally have a step forward and now that me csf pressure is down decompression may be just around the corner

Why do nurses always have weird issues????seeing a neurosurgeon on Wed.  I'm glad u are doing well. Thanks for informing me about the halo. I was hoping it was  utilized in surgery.  I'm a former icu nurse and have 2 boys.

Thank u Selma it was Friday the 13th.    And so far recovery is going well. Only big problem is not doing things because I finally have relief in the head that all the things I have been waiting to do I can finally do but I still have to take it easy so the shunt can settle into place.

I can not thank u enough for recommending dr prevedello to me. He has been a god send.   A true mericle that I not only found a doc to listen but o e that wasn't affraid to do something and help.  And he is still planning on finding out what else is causing it and fixing that too.   U single handedly answered two years worth of prayers for telling me about him.  I just can thank u enough I finally am on my roa again in my life. Hugs hugs and more hugs.   I hope all is well with u as well

Thank u Nikki.   I have been swishing annoying ear sound free for three days now.  Yay.

Angee.  I am an RN also. And a mother of three.  I don't know how to do nothing.    Lol.   I forgot and started picking up laundry and the pain reminded me quickly not to so that.   Today is the worst so far but third day post op usually is for any surgery.   That is when healing starts so everything sorta pulls.  And itches and I am soooooo ready to wash my hair but much better I can say now this is all worth it.  Good luck to u.    And the halo doesn't stay on it is only during the surgery

Well mine was just placed Friday but it isn't too bad the worst is the belly.   I have a hard time sitting up and laying down and getting comfortable.  That and my neck is really sore.  U never realize how much u use those muscles until u can't.    My head is much much better.   I barely have any paim at that site just where the halo was.  But that is very minor.   Ice does help the belly.  and it seems to do better with Tylenol than the oxy they gave me.   And it is much better today than yesterday.    They said expect 10 full days of doing nothing. But I cleaned up my kitchen today and did better than a normal chiari day.  Hope this helps some.  I cam let u know more as it gets better
