Question about ringing in ears..

Hello everyone,
I got two questions for those who have chiari,
Does your ears do a popping sound when you swallow that others can hear?
and does the ringing in your ears increase when resist closing your jaw, I mean if you try to close your jaw slowly while resisting at the same time, does your tinnitus increase? danke schön!

I am really new to all of this.  My Chiari showed on an MRI at 7.65 mm.  I Have had a ton of symptoms that I have learned to live with, thinking I was just getting old.  I may make a separate post about that.  I am still in the finding a doctor range.  To answer your question, yes my ringing changes when I resist as you state it.  It also increases if a clamp my mouth shut and squeeze my jaws together.  Thanks for posting.

Hi it is possible you may also have TMJD so ask your dentist to take a look...but the ringing in the ears can change from time to time....the popping may be the TMJD.....

I am having an appointment soon to check for tmj, however my problem seems more neurological.. i used to have sudden onsets of severe headaches and nausea i think caused by increased icp due to chiari, my mri showed signs of increase icp and benign tonsillar ectopia (chiari zero). A temporal bone ct showed right and left internal caroted arteries bony defects, also with left side jugular bulb dehiscence to the hypotempanum .. i think its related to chiari and increased icp, that my ears and not working properly anymore and i have daily headaches..
It is very possible to have both....so do have the TMJD looked at and know it can take time for the medical profession to connect all the dots of your symptoms and see how they are related and connected.
