LADIES, Has chiari affected your...........

Okay, gals this is a bit of a personal question but has chiari affected your menstural cycles and the pain associated with them?  Just wondering because they thought I had Endometriosis and did the laparscopic surgery and they didn't find any Endo, so they are suggesting I get a hysterecotmy at age 29..  When then unforgiving time of the month comes I definately consider it infact I want to schedule it but only because of the amount of pain and bleeding and for the rest of the the month (2 weeks) I think the suggestion is absurd because I am only 29 and I'm not even sure if we are done making a family..

So, does/can/has anyone had CM affect there meses and the amount of pain associated.  The pain I mimics Endometriosis but I don't have it..

Thank You and I'm sorry for being so forward!

I was diagnosed with periomenopause when I was in my mid thirties (42 now)...I haven't had a period for over eight months now. I also was send for hormone testing that showed no results.  I am lucky that mine was just a slow down to the point of not happening instead of the massive bleeding and pain that others have experienced.  Never had a chance to have children...the opportunity was gone before it really registered what was happening. I mean, who complains about NOT having a period and cramps?  Now my kids are my two dogs and cat and I love them dearly :)

It affected my cycles so much that I thought I had hormone issues for years before I received my dx.  They could never find a problem with anything but HAs were always worse during ovulation and period.  I also had very long cycles, post decompression I am regular again but HAs are worse during those times again.  I just started progesterone and it helped a lot this last month.  I had more energy and my HAs didn't spike during my period.  I don't know if that helps you but I completely understand where you are at they wanted to do a hysterectomy with me but was so afraid it wouldn't fix the problem.  Good luck!

I dont know if it was the Chiari that affected me but after my son was born I had so much pain and constant bleeding. I was on pain meds for almost a year when I finally called my doctors office in tears asking for HELP!

He too thought I had ENDO but turns out that my uterus was prolapsing and causing all the pain and super heavy, constant bleeding. My Dr had to check me during "that time" which was very uncomfortable and embarrassing but we had an answer. Maybe that is something you would want to ask about.

I already knew I did not want any more children so it made the decision very easy to take it out and throw it away. (apologize if that was too forward) I know some women feel very strongly about keeping all their parts but for me it was the best decision.

I have been pain and pms free since.

thank you selma for your quick reply!  Although I am relieved (kind of) that CM could be the cause only for the purpose of an answer I am disappointed..  I am going to do the search and see what issues other gals are having..

Thank you again for all your wisdom and advice Selma I think I can speak for all of us when I say " we appreciate it"

Yes, and u may want to use the search this community feature to see other threads on this topic...

But I went into early menopause, and have a tilted pelvis and uterus...ugh...and a plethora of other issues as well as a monthly that was really bi monthly....meaning 2x's a month not every other....

Chiari affects our brain stem, the control center for all that goes on in our bodies, so it stands to reason it can  and does affect this.
