Sleep Apnea (Get Checked) My CPAP is GREAT!!!

I was dx with CM in 2008.

Been very sick since August 2009. Off work three weeks with Swine flu, couldn't get over colds, chiari monster attacks of vision loss, eye twitches, headaches, left side going limp giving me the name GIMPY at work.

4 June 2010: ER visit due to left leg being numb. Arm was not numb. Could not lift leg off bed when asked by DR. DR ordered cat scan. Came back with no bleeding in my brain. Released and told to follow up with Cleveland Clinic.

Took sleep study on June 16, 2010 after taking other tests. DX with sleep apnea a week later. Started my CPAP machine on June 28, 2010.

It has been VERY wonderful working with it. If I awake and my mask is off, I will IMMEDIATELY adjust and put it on.

My point, PLEASE get checked for sleep apnea. MANY of my symptoms have become dulled. And I truly believe it is due to using my CPAP. And hopefully, my success is inspiration to others.

Wow...I am really glad to hear how much it is helping you!!

I can believe that it would make your symptoms a lot worse....just from the lack of sleep that apnea causes. I remember about a month b4 my surgery not being able to sleep all night long, night after night, b/c I kept waking up gasping for air. Thankfully, that has settled down for me post op.

Thanks for sharing how much sleep apnea can affect us and symptoms we consider to be chiari can be from sleep apnea..

I know I was to a sleep clinic around time of my dx as I was told it could be a factor.....not all get told about this....so it is very important to remember to be checked...b4 and after surgery.

It is wonderful that the use of cpap is able to help u with many of ur symptoms.
