The poem by Dr Oro at the top of the forum is also helpful in explaining chiari....and giving hope, it shows there are Drs that understand.
See the Special announcements drop down at the top of the forum to locate the poem.

That article was perfect. I agree, everyone should read it, especially completely healthy people, to get a better insight. Thanks for posting it! Oh, and I've given up wearing makeup to the Dr too lol. I've heard the whole "well you look fine, why are you here" thing. I guess I just hide it well. No use going through daily life having a breakdown on the floor (although sometimes I want to!)
Thank You Thank you for this post!! I now how some way of explaining this!!
I know..crazy comment...I stopped wearing makeup bcuz of it...I wanted the drs to really see how I look.
I would never let ne one see me with out makeup...but I had to make a point!!
I always thought that was funny when occasionally a doctor would say something like you don't look sick. What does a sick person look like? Should I have green oozing sores and be dragging myself on the ground? I still wear nice clothes and put makeup and blush on, etc., so yes, I look normal.
I've seen this on u tube and I think it's great but I've never been able to say it to anyone. I dnt no y it's just uncomfortable to talk about spoons.lol

The Spoon Theory is an absolute treasure. I don't have Lupus but it is still a great way to explain things to those that can't seem to wrap their minds around what I'm saying when I tell them about I feel
Thank you for posting this...everyone should read it. I have read it and passed it on many times. The writer has Lupus and she did a great job explaining our world. I have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, RA and the list goes on, so this article has always been a great help to me when people think I'm being unsociable or rude. Thanks again.
