Top National Chiari recs?

I just posted about my five-year-old son. Again, we are in the beginning stages of trying to traverse all of the research and information. Is there a top hospital or a handful of top doctors that would be considered the best experts in Chiari in the nation? I'm trying to get a handle on where the best and latest experts are. Thanks so much in advance for any insight you can give us on this road of information gathering and healing.

  Dr Henderson is in Baltimore  and there is a Dr  Heiss  also at  the NIH  in  Baltimore....  

  No  I  am not  familiar with  the Drs in TX.....but we  do  have  a few on the list but you will  need  to  research them.,....

I  will bump  up  the thread  on  the Health  Pages  and you can look  at  the list  we have  compiled.....

selmaS, thank you SO much for this answer. We are overwhelmed with the amount of research we need to do to figure out the best Dr., the best route, even the best tests. So far, he's only had the C/T scan.

Would you mind sending me the names of the Drs. in each of the states you mention?
Specifically, who is the one in Baltimore?
Do you know of any in Texas?

Any and all leads you can give me are beyond appreciated!

   Depends  on  whom  you  ask....but  the top  Chiari specialists  are  located  all over...one  in  CO,  one  in  NC,  one  in  Baltimore, One  in  Fl, one  in NY....

  Keep  in  mind  not  ALL   of  them  treat  children, so there  you  have  another check off  list.....but  there  are  many  that  do....

These  Drs  tend  to  go  to conferences  together  and share with  each  other what  they  are  learning  about  Chiari.....and related  conditions.....there are  also  many  Drs  that  will  tell  you they  can  treat  it....it  doesn't  mean  they  are  the most  experienced....

Only  after  educating  yourself  will  you  be  able  to  decide  which  Dr  is  best  for  your  DS.
