Vision

Second question on this forum. I was just curious to how many/if any suffered from eye sight problems? Bad vision, pain, photophobia, ect?  Is this normal with ACM? Or should I address this issue further with an optometrist?      Thanks

One of my main complaints, and the whole reason my Chiari was found was because of degraded vision in my left eye. The pressure in my head was causing a blood vessel in the back of my eye to leak blood into my macula, which led to the MRI that found my Chiari.

Since surgery ( 4 weeks ago) my vision has improved to the point where I rarely wear my glasses. Once I heal up better I'm going to revisit my eye doctor for a new vision test.

Hi...with Chiari we can be affected in many ways and vision is one of them....it is important to have your eyes checked as we can have pressure on the optic nerve which can lead to other issues so do see a neuro optho for a full check up.

Related conditions like syringomyelia and ICP can also affect vision....so it is important to know what is causing the vision issues and do not assume since Chiari can cause some vision issues it is Chiari only.
