How do CBDs effect or affect a Chiarian?

I haven't been real active or active at all on this list for far too long. Mostly due to other health issues and perhaps just life.

However, recently I've had more than one Dr recommend high cbd mmj to for seizures and chronic pain. My concern at first was that I refuse to walk around high. Not doing it even for relief as to me that isn't life. Anyway they tell me that you can use a propotional high CBD strain with slightly lower or equal THC and you won't get the high but will gain the seizure and pain relief.

I'm tempted to try it but they can't answer me as to how it may affect any Chiari related symptoms. Most of those are gone since my last surgery in 2012 but the sub-cranial or chiari headaches are not. Much better but not gone.

So if you have used mmj and do have chiari - What has been your experience? Helped a little, not at all or worse?

SelmaS I'm still kicking. Just been dealing with a variety of other health issues. Kind of feel like everything connects back to Chiari in way or another. But such is life. The grass is still under us so we are just fine right?

Yes. I've been a strict opponent of mmj until recently. Two doctors have recommended it. At first I was very opposed even angry that they would suggest it. With many hours of research under my belt my opinion has changed dramatically. Research has helped me to see that my views were based on the 'pot heads' I went to school with and not on reality. And that it is entirely possible to benifit without smoking it and without being high. So yes I'm interested. Just hesitant as they couldn't tell me how it would effect/affect the Chiari headaches or occipital neuralgia

The main reason they would put me on it is chronic pain. Not directly from CM but from a failed fusion where the spina bifida screwed things up in my back. That I feel fairly confident it may help with. But if I help that and make chiari ha worse than not sure I gained anything. If no one responds I may just have to try it and see for myself.

Hey CW how the heck are you?
I can not speak with first hand knowledge  to answer your question but from how I understand it, medical MJ is not the same as the stuff found on the streets and should not get one "high"....or any of the other side effects such as munchies etc.....
I have watched video's of someone with tremors or seizures and they show before and after...

JMPO but if I was offered it I would give it a try.....and yes I would want the answers to the questions you asked....just not sure if anyone here has been on it for the reasons you are seeking info for.....meaning using medical strains and not the garden variety that is more readily available.

Let me add they tell me that my system is Drug Resistant. It has been so for nearly 50 years now. So I'm curious if that would interfere with mmj working.
