Can't say that I've heard of that as a symptom. I have swallowing and breathing problems as well as entire head-aches, but not specifically jaw pains.
Still, Chiari is a brain/skull/spine malformation, so it's certainly possible.
As someone put it to me; Chiari can effect anything the brain effects - meaning everything! :)
Hey there, my daughter did complain that her jaw felt like it was wired down, her mouth gets tired. Weird she said it like her mouth doesn't want to chew. So, I guess it could be related to her CM. Hope this helps you. God bless.
Hey guys- ok called my friend who is also my dentist when I saw this post, not sure if this will help, in 2005 I had their weirdest dental stuff happen ( I didn't know I had chiari until 2 weeks ago). I my teeth started really messing up and causing horrible pain after thousands of dollars of awesome work, horrible jaw pain, my dentist diagnosed me with something that is sort of pronounced shogrins, which means not enough syliva, ( it also affected my tears) and said he thought I might have some type of issue with my trigeminal nerve. when I saw this post it reminded me of that horrible pain, so I called him up and talked to him about it and told him of my chiari he looked it up and called some guys he knew they kicked it around and literally came up with this " anything is possible when dealing with the brain" and since that is a major nerve it connects up higher, and runs down under your jaw down to your chin, he said it can tingle, shoot pain or even go to sleep or tingle. I dont know if this is what it is for anyone, or if it helps anyone in any way, but thought I would share.- Peachy
