I went to UCLA for brain, c-spine & L-spine mri's w/ AND w/o contrast last month. When I was done, I asked the tech gal how I could get copies, thinking I would request they be mailed to me. She told me if I could wait about 20 minutes, & for a fee, they would burn a cd for me. $15 & 20 minutes later... out the door. Beautiful. Why would they not let you look at yourself?

Yes if u have your discs your co
puter should have a print screen option. Now this isn't xray film. Most hosptials no longer have the equipment to film produce MRIs.
And your notes are YOUR record you are intiled to them. I did have to pay for a few of mine but you demand them and ask to sign a release to yourself if they give u trouble tell them a lawyer can contact them if that would be easier. Hope they don't call the bluff but it is illegal for them to with hold ur info
I have wanted all mine since I found my doc yelling me one thing and than charting another. No wonder I look like an idiot to the next doc.....
Good luck
Some hospitals require you to sign a paper stating what and why you want these,
also when u are having testing they should not have a problem making and or giving you a copy of any scans and or results i think you need to call the hospital and speak to someone in the records dept...and the same with your medical provider...also like jennyfoo said there is a law that it can not be kept from you when you request them.
start raising some caine to get what you want--but try to hold your cool- to get what you want!
Any test results, any imaging, your medical files... Are YOUR property. By law, you can have them any time you want to take them. I can understand charging a few bucks for copies, etc, but there's no reason for them to deny you access. I got my MRI films straight from the imaging center. Later, I called and asked if I could get my images on disk if I decide to send them to an out of area specialist. No charge. I just had to give them 24 hours notice before I came to pick it up. I was told they'll give me up to 5 copies of the disk for free.
I think Shane and Ray may have been part of the thread..being last yr...I have way too many threads to locate it,, but will let u know when I do : )
Yes, we did have a thread and I just went looking for it...and couldn't find it...let me look some more....

Is it possible to print a picture from an MRI. For instance, there is one picture I want and I'm sure this wouldn't be clear unless it printed like an x-ray. Strange question, but just curious...
The hospital should not be able to refuse u info that is urs...I do not understand why they r doing this to u....goodness how r u to get proper treatment if they do not let u know....I know I had to pay for copies to be made and wait for them to have time to make copies...
U may need to talk to ur Chiari dr to see if there is a way that he can get access to all ur info not just what the other dr releases?
