Questions! Thanks!!!

Hi!

A few years ago (5 maybe), I was having severe headaches, so my gp ordered a MRI.  The MRI found boderline mild chiari type 1.
I followed up with a neurologist who said just to follow up for new symptons, etc.  Well, nothing significant happened so I have not.  Should it be monitored? I've been to my gp for checkups and it just has slipped my mind.

Thanks!

U may want to have one since changes in ur body can occur while pregnant.....

How do u feel otherwise?

Do u have copies of the initial MRI? If not call the facility that did the study and request it and a copy of the report.....and when u go for the new one get copies of both right away too.

Thank you! The only follow up I have had was the initial Neuro one.  I got pregnant with my 3rd child, so things have been busy ;)!

Last MRI I had was approx 5 years ago.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

May I ask what type of follow ups u have had so far? Ne new symptoms?

I would advise u check for a syrinx that may form over time.....and make sure u do not have a CSF obstruction which can lead to the formation of a syrinx......if u feel ok, they do as ur Drs suggest and have it monitored....not everyone with Chiari is a surgical candidate.

With Chiari it can be little things that come and go, as the symptoms do cycle and u may not connect it with Chiari...so keep a journal of all odd sensations or times u r not feel well to see if u have a pattern or other issue along with Chiari.....

I pray u continue to do well that u forget u have this condition.
