how can this be managed?

hi  I hope atleast few  chiarians might be aware of managing electrolyte imbalance due to dehydration.....

...which might probably be due to muscle atrophy ..

How to manage .Low sodium and high potassium(not too high) ..to be precise..?

Oral Electrolyte drinks  are probably not a good  option becoz they contain potassium too which is unwanted.

i tried to have a list of high potassium foods which could be avoided ..But dont know how i get sodium without potassium...

I am confused as to if table salt iodized contain potassium ? does rock salt contain potassium? Does soy products contain potassium?

Please reply if anyone knows

which is the type of salt is the one which does not contain potassium but Only sodium..

the net search gives confusing replies...
....
How can  low sodium be increased and high potassium be reduced ...Please give ideas if any one knows ..Thanx ..

dear selma ...happy easter

Thanx for ur reply..

I had a blood work out ..

Dr said I have low sodium... but potassium is high which is not good for heart .and nerves ....other vitamin levels are normal .

.sodium  is low ....But not to the level of giving iv fluid etc .and potassium high but not  to the level of treatiing at hospital

If both are low then I can take iodized salt which has potassium iodide but

dr said I have to increase sodium without increasing potassium ..

That is I asked   in specific for increasing sodium without increasing potassium as to which salt is the one without potassium iodide etc ..that is which is the one which has only sodium chloride and does not add potassium ..

Thanx..

Iodized salt is thus table salt mixed with a minute amount of potassium iodide,
Dehydration results from the loss of water and important electrolytes from the body, including potassium, sodium, chloride, and many other minerals that are often overlooked.

I am unsure y u r trying to avoid potassium as it is one of the items lacking when u dehydrate...many with chiari may have low levels of magnesium and potassium.

Ways to avoid dehydration is drink water and make sure u r getting ur daily intake of  sodium, calcium, potassium, magnesium, chloride,......
