just a question??

Ok just need an answer from the ones who have had the dec surgery....I am 19 days post op...I have been taking it very easy i promise! But, i decided to get some clothes out of the dryer this morning, it was a small load but i kept bending over and all of the sudden i got this overwhelming feeling and got weak all over, then everything turned black..I knew I was fixing to pass out so, i sat down by the dryer..the feeling finally passed. I never did this before surgery, so, did i just over do it?? I am shaky and my blood sugar is 135, blood pressure is 135/75 which is high for me and my heart rate was 120. When I was in the hosp they had problems getting my heart rate up..it was staying between 35 and 45, but after i got home it has stayed between 97 and 120 and i really havent been doing anything....any suggestions to what this could be?  I do have some thyroid issues that i am having checked out next week so could it be that?

So, went to the endo and she is putting me on 25mg of meteprolol to slow my heart rate. She suspects that I am hyper but wanted to double check with more bloowork to see where I am now. When I went in, I had to wait 20 min to see her so my heart rate should not have been up after sitting there right? Well, it was 102. I've never had any issues with a high HR and in the hosp they said they couldn't get it out of the 30's. Anyway, now she is not going to put me on anything for the thyroid since the BW was normal. I don't know what to do! Doesn;t there have to be a reason my HR is so high?? So, instead of checking to see why it is high they are just gunna give me meds to bring it down! What should I do now? Go back to my PCP? He just did an EKG on me last week and said it was perfectly normal...I feel like pulling my hair out but I think that might hurt too bad since my surgery was only 3 wks ago>>>lol

I don't think I was given a list of do's and dont's but he did tell me to take it very easy and start out with getting up and moving around 5 min at a time and then go slowly from there and that if it hurts don't do it. I may have gotten a list along with my paperwork, I will have to ask my DH where those are because I have no idea. He took the first two weeks off work and stayed at the hosp day and night with me because they were so worried about my heart rate and when I got home, he did everything for me. He even bathed me like I was a baby. lol I am so lucky to have him! And my kiddos and in laws have been wonderful too. Sis n law took the week off after my hubby went to work and now my mom n law is here this week, so I am very blessed to say the least...I am rambling now, sorry....My NS told me to do my neck exercises like I was doing b4 surgery but not to over do it, wants me to wait til after my post op visit to start my PT. I just hope the endo can get my thyroids under control as I have gained 15 lbs in the past 6 months and now my "fat girl' pants dont even fit lol  I don't mean I'm huge...I am 5'3 and weigh 145 which is the biggest I've ever been and it really is depressing that I can't do anything about it. Anyway, I will let u know what endo says tom....ur a Godsend Selma! Thanks for listening to my rambling....everyone on here is great!  I loved the one that was apologizing for talking about his BM and afraid of passing out..we've all been there!  lol

I have already gone and got my stitches out and the incision sight looks wonderful, can't believe how fast it is healing! But I don't go back until may 7th for post op. Maybe the endo can give me some insight to some of my problems..I go see him tomorrow..thanks again, selma!

Hi...so glad to hear from u...not sure how I missed ur post!!

NO LIFTING>>>it is too soon and u can suffer set backs...u need to walk and do neck exercises, but laundry is not something u should be doing at this time.

It is possible u r having some thyroid issues, but u should not be bending and lifting yet....listen to ur body, it is screaming at u....

When do u go for a post op visit with ur NS?
