lump

I had acdf surgery on March 4 and I have a hard lump at the incision site. My pcp sent me for an ultrasound to check for an absess but there was none. Does anyone know if this normal?

  Ok makes sense.....I forgot which surgery u had....thanks chiari....ugh....

But I can see why u r immobile and  have no idea what the lump might be.....

Have u called the Dr to ask?

He replaced a disc and ground down some bone spurs and put in a plate to keep the disc in place. He said if my symptoms don't clear up we will discuss the chiari.

  Really what all did he do, my Drs had me doing the neck exercises while I was still in the hospital....

Not doing any exercises. Not allowed to move my neck for 4 weeks . I go back to see Dr Bejjani March 29.

  Hi this ca be the muscle getting tight...are u doing exercises for ur neck?

U have to move to help prevent this, as well as help prevent scar tissue from forming.....

Start our slowly, but use heat b4 u do the exercises no more then 15 mins of heat, then another 15 mins after to help keep the muscles relaxed....but build doing the exercises at diff intervals during the day....
