I was reading prior to my surgery through a lot of websites and I seemed to read more people having issues with the man made patch opposed to the others. Isn't there a topic on that someone here?
I have a bovine patch. I know they considered using my own skin for this. I have hypersensitivity allergic reactions, which results in hives and anaphylatic shock. So I was shocked to wake up and find they used bovine. So far so good...I think! :)
Hi Molly,
I haven't talked with in in a while. Drop me a few lines when you get a chance. Sorry you are not feeling well.

HI Molly....ditto what Shannon said....EDS is a big reason for rejection of patches and yes is y my dr used my own skin...less likely to reject ur own.....
I have heard of this happening and having the patch replaced.....I can only suggest if u were not tested for EDS to do so prior to getting another patch that u may have the same issues with.
If u r rejecting it, I can only imagine to remove it completely to avoid ne other problems.......
Please keep us posted

Hi molly! Did they ever check you for EDS? I know that is why they used selma's own skin for her patch because of possible rejection. I'm sure there are other reasons for rejection too and i'm sure selma will have more info ; ) I'm so sorry your having to go through this honey! Just know we're all here if you need us ((HUGS)) --Shannon
