Like you, I cannot tolerate heat. Autonomic nerve dysfunction I think.
All my symptoms get worse, particularly headaches, dizziness, fatigue and hand tremors.
Anyone else experiencing issues with major weather changes?
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a form of dysautonomia POTS is a subset of orthostatic intolerance that is associated with the presence of excessive tachycardia on standing.1 The current diagnostic criteria for POTS is a heart rate increase of 30 beats per minute (bpm) or more, or over 120 bpm, within the first 10 minutes of standing.1,2,3,4 In children and adolescents, a revised standard of a 40 bpm or more increase has recently been adopted.4,5 POTS is often diagnosed by a Tilt Table Test, but if such testing is not available, POTS can be diagnosed with bedside measurements of heart rate and blood pressure taken in the supine (laying down) and standing up position at 2, 5 and 10 minute intervals.
No, I have not. What do the letters stand for? I want to read about it. As alway, thank you, Selma.
Those of us with POTS have more issues in the heat.,..,.did you have that ruled out.,...
For me it is EDS that affect my joints....not Chiari.....
Summer is always my most stressful time. I do not tolerate heat very well at all. I am not sure what really affects my symptoms - except extreme hot temperatures. Maybe having a baby affects your body's ability to regulate heat. These metabolic changes began when my dear son was born. After he was born, it seems my body has changed. For 17 years, I have hidden inside the house in the summer heat.! As a blissful child, growing up in the Northeast, I learned early on how to live in the cold. I know many older people experience joint stiffness and pain in the cold weather. Well I am older and it hasn't gotten to me yet. However, I have begun to feel my first arthritic pain in my hands. Doing things like writing and hand sewing remind me that I come from a family with arthritis. But I really haven't found out how the chiari will affect my joints. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Mine is each time there is an extreme temp change or season change....so from Spring to Summer, Summer to Fall,Fall to Winter...Winter to Spring,....ugh,,,
Then any huge weather front that moves in,,my body gives me a heads up.....For many yrs 2 days b4 it would rain is when I felt bad....and while it rained I felt great ....lately tho....I feel bad all while it rains,.....sigh.....
The worse times of the year for me are spring and fall. The adjustments kill me. It causes me to have more headaches along with the colds that come with the changing of season. Winter and Summer don't effect me as much. Thank goodness for that. I feel more joint stiffness during spring and fall as well.
The rain doesn't bother me. I rather enjoy when it rains. Though iI can never tell when its going to rain like some has.
