the week for new things....

i know many of us have the eye twitching thing going on from time to time, but here's a new thing that just started with me about 2 hours ago....the eye has been twitching on and off all day though.  in the outer corner of my left eye, where the eyelids meet, is incredibly sore.  almost feels like someone belted me in the eye.  and then, every 10 minutes or so, i feel a really sharp, quick pain.  kind of feels like a pin in being stuck in that part of my face right there where the lids meet.  earlier this morning, there was a small swollen spot on my right eye lid, but that is gone now...just a tiny tad puffy.  all day i've been very nausuas, tired and light headed.  have a cold compress on the eye now.  any suggestions as to what this might be?

Hi Elizabeth,
I have in the past had what my GP called a “spot haemorrhage”  in my eye. This caused my eye to become bloodshot but with no pain. It is best to go to your family doctor with this.

Is the mirror ok lol!!!

thanks for the thoughts ray...def not a stye or infection.  i just looked in the mirror not 5 minutes ago and it looks like a blood vessel or something has ruptured on my eye lid..  weird...that doesn't hurt tho....just the outside corner and the twitching has increased in frequency..twitching is annoying, but no big deal.  just wondering if i should call the doc (which one?!)  since i will be flying next week.  ruptured blood vessels could be from increased pressure, right?  but it is not affecting the eye itself.  ie, not blood shot, no pain in eye and pupils are ok...

Hi Elizabeth,
the best I can offer is that it sounds like some kinda nerve pain.

Could it be a stye or some kinda infection.
