Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Keep in mind we r not Drs, and r just using the web to see what most things mean, and r using our own experience to share with u....

But it seems u may have small cyst like growths.....that is what I understand solitary hyperintesnsity to mean....but, u have to know what the person who wrote it meant too. SO, wait until ur Dr reviews the MRI itself, many NS's do not read the reports, they make their own judgments...and go from there.

  Please keep us posted

Hi...we do recommend u request  copies of all testing...labs and MRI's when u go for them and u r signing in, tell them u want a copy they will have it ready for u b4 u leave on a disk...the reports have to be mailed.

But this is very helpful bcuz u can make copies and send them out to get other opinions and do not have to wait on the medical info to be forwarded.

Do I have to request the MRI reports from my DR? Will they give these willingly? Just curious to see what the reports show.

Thanks.

thank u selma for replying to my question. i have the mri report in my possesion . i just read what it says about the solitary hyperintensity within the subcortical white matter. the mri was read by a m.d. not ns, but i do finally have an appt with a NS who specializes in chiari malformation ( which i also have) 5 mm drop. i see the NS oct 11th . hoping to get him to look at both mri scans of brain and possibly shed more light on what it all means.. any more info from u or anyone else will be greatly appreciated!
