Autism

Now I read the information on here about the head banging in autistic children, it was very helpfull to me as I have been very concerned,I feel bad for my son everyday i watch him smash his head into a wall even corner edges where it would be very easy for him to cut open his head now I have been so worried about brain damage do to it now the info on here did say a child thats 3 doesn't have the ability or force to really do brain damage but Autistic children have been linked to having high pain tolerance and I know my son does, but he is also very sensitive to touch as well.
How can I be so sure that this isn't going to affect his life in a bad way? And that he has so many mental issues he goes from rying and head banging to hyper and laughing a minute later my son may have childhood bipolar disorder, but it's so hard to figure this out.
How can you get the pediatrician to really help you with these concerns?
It seems like mine always ignores my concerns like he knows everything and I know nothing,But I know my son better than anyone..

Get an opinion from child development specialist/psychologist/psychiatrist

Thing is, pediatrician sees your child only once in a  few month and has no idea how this behavior interferes with his functioning......

My child's pediatrician did not think he had speech/communication problems because he've answered her questions so well....But at school, he does have this problem and it interferes with his functioning.....You are right about knowing your son better than anyone; pediatrician probably is aware that children are over-diagnosed nowadays.....Does your son have a diagnosis of autism? Truth is, that whatever it is, you feel like you need outside help with it, and it really does not matter whether there is a diagnosis, or no diagnosis......Your concerns are legitimate....Check into therapy to help with head-banging behavior
