My son is 4 years old and has screaming and yelling fits every day. He swears and calls me names if he doesn't get his way. Naughty chair, taking away priviledges and toys don't work. I have tried to talk to him and asked him if he could talk calmly and tell me why he is upset instead of yelling and screaming and throwing things. He says ok, but the next time it happens, it's the same old thing. I try to remind him to talk to me, but he doesn't hear me. I am starting to think that maybe it is something more than just a phase, and maybe we should take him to the doctor. Any suggestions on another discipline before we go to the doctor?
my daughter is 4 and also does the tantrumsTemper tantrums and used to do it everyday now not so much. when she would be calm and watching tv or playing quietly i would just make a suggestion that we could talk when she is upset, or she could explain to me what is going on. that way we dont get the screaming matches. but remember that things always get worse before they get better.
