lack of concentration

my child is a  six and half year old boy, he has a very bad lack of concentration , not only in school but also in his swimming lessons, and in everything he is asked to do, pls advise how to deal with this problem, specially that he  is easily bored.

Sounds similar to my son at that age. Does the school call/send home reports on his behaviour?  Has he been evaluated.  I can't tell you what to do, only what my son is still diagnosed with. ADD,ODD, possible bipolar, and he is very bright.
To me it sounds like your son may have add or adhd . Can he concentrate on things that he really enjoys? For example a favorite show/movie? But other things forget it. My son wanted to read starting at 3.  He couldn't stay still enough, he would do somersaults etc. Is he easily bored with schoolwork?  If so it may be either too easy , too hard, or he just can't focus. The school is responsible (all states I think) to test him. You have to request it and probably in writing. Is he is special ed.?  Oh, how is he at home??
