a couple of times a day. I went to an std clinic and they tested me positive for chlamydia, all the other std's we're negative. I got azitromycine 1g.... I was told not to drink alcohol for 7 days and not have sex in this 7 day period. Stupid, but i did drink alcohol. After the 7 days i still had discharge and i was afraid i still had the chlamydia cause of the fact the antibiotic didnt work since i had been drinking alcohol within in the 7 day period. I went back to the clinic and got another dose of azitromycine. But also after this 7 day period i still had the complaints i described above and went back. Also i started to have pain and and uncomfortable feeling at the top of my penis. They did research on my urine and took a monster of discharge with a swab. There were inflammation cells found and they told me this was caused by NGU, they didn't find chlamydia or gonnoroe. They gave me 4 tablets of metronidazol which i should take on day one and than on the next 7 days i had to take 3 times a day Amoxicilline. Now after the azitromycine, metronidazol, Amoxicilline that they gave me i still have this irritating pain in my penis, the top is a little red. Therefore I believe i still have NGU.
My questions:
1. I'm reading on the internet that after treatment with antibiotics that symtomps can continue until around 2 weeks after the antibiotics, but you can be sure that the bacteria that caused the infection are killed. I'm also reading that no. 1 antibiotic to kill NGU is azitromycine, which i got for my chlamydia. Can i assume that the bacteria that caused the NGU are killed and that it is not strange that i still feel, 2 weeks after they gave me azitromycine for the 2nd time, am suffering for symptoms?
2. Can it be that the bacteria that caused the NGU (it can't be chlamydia since they tested me negative for this) isnt killed by the azitromycine and that i should need doxycycline?
3. After the std clinic concluded i suffered from NGU they told me to go to my personal health doctor and that he shoud treat me for this. He ran a chlamydia gonnoroe and a herpes test on me, i don't have the outcome yet, but he says that utheritis also can cure automatically, he's very cautious with giving me antibiotics... Is it true that NGU, no matter what bacteria caused this, can cure automatically?
4. What do you advise me?
My english is not that good but i hope you understand my story. Thanks in advance for your answer.
I think you need to get a prostate exam done. You are a little young for it, but sometimes chlamydia can cause an inflammation of the prostate gland. You will have to see your doctor for this. Prostatitis can also cause persistent NGU.
Oh and you have a few different questions. Lets keep it all to this one. When you want to respond, just scroll down a bit and type your answer in the big white box under "Post Comment", then when you are finished, click the green "Post Comment" button underneath the box.
Thanks for the quick response, i did a recheck this last tuesday for chlamydia and gonorroe, both we're negative i just heard from the doc. Does this delete the possibility of an inflammation of the prostate glan due to a chlamydia bacterie? Because else they would have tested me posivitive for chlamydia right?
Also, peeing isn't painful, the only complaints after a succesful chlamydia treatment is an upcoming tingling, burning feeling that than lasts for a couple of hours. The std clinic after they treated me for the chlamydia told me after a checkup with a swab from my penis and a unrinesample there still we're flammation cells found and they told me i problably have an non specific urethritis....
So painless when peeing, small white discharge in the morning, all std checks negative....
I'm planning to go back to the doctor this next monday. But just out of curiosity, suppose i have an inflammation of the prostate gland due to chlamydia, is it possible to test negative on a normal chlamydia test?
