Tested positive at gyn

by Jane_patient, Apr 01, 2008 06:28AM
My BF has since been eval'd/tested via urine test at his doctor's office and it was negative.  How can this be (mutually monog relationship for 5 yrs) if I know I have been faithful?  I saw the results myself and he has since been treated with abx b/c of his poss exposure with me.  I'm going back to get re-tested/verify test is negative next week.
Is he lying?  Could it have been a false positive for me?

You could have had a false pos, or he could have had a false neg.

Ask to see his results, if you don't believe him.

False negs can happen if he didn't give the first part of his urine stream, if he didn't wait at least an hour to pee, if he had been on antibiotics within 2 weeks prior to the test, etc.

If you truly have chlamydia, then one of you had to have another partner.  You wouldn't go 5 years with chlamydia and not get very sick.

Good luck.
