Newly Diagnosed? Please read this first ...

It can be alarming to receive a diagnosis from the vet that your best friend has chronic kidney disease. Although there is no cure, there are lots of things you and your vet can do to help prolong life and their quality of life too. While this sometimes depends on how far the kidney disease has already progressed, it can also depend on how quickly some very important changes are made to diet and how proactive your vet is in advising suitable treatments and a management protocol. By way of kick-starting this process, please have a read of my article linked below. It will hopefully support you in choosing the right direction to go from here and give your dog the best possible chance of improving over the next couple of weeks ...

If you have further questions, please ask. I usually get to this forum every day, but sometimes only every 2 or 3 days due to being on multiple other canine support forums too. So, I will reply to all questions asked, but I apoligise in advance if it isn't straight away.
