I got the results for the breathe test and it was negative butI am still in pain, guess I will be going in for a upper and lower soon. YEEAH!
Celiac disease is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. People who have Celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten, a protein in wheat, rye, and barley. Gluten is found mainly in foods but may also be found in everyday products such as medicines, vitamins, and lip balms.
I don't know much about this but I have a grandmother and an uncle die from it and I just don't want to catch it to late where it will do more damage. I have had h pylori for about 5 years and it did a number on me. I have never been given any kinds of meds. The first time I had a upper and lower I had it but was never treated for it and I did not know what it was to demand meds. I was 17 and hated medicines. But recently I found out I still had it and I took a round of meds called pylaria and had some bad side effects from it like vomiting and nausea, I felt like I was about to pass out every time I took a step but I took about six days and was told to stop. I took a breathe test last Monday and should get the results for it today. I hope it is negative so I can get another lower done to test for crohns and see if I have any damage done, from not being treated for so long. What is Celiac?
Weight loss is not necessarily an indicator of Crohns. I don't know if you have it or not. Crohns can be tricky to diagnose, I guess. They said I had it when they tested a mass they removed from my small intestine. Then six months later they said I didn't have it when I had a colonoscopy/endoscopy. Well, I found out from a specialist I later went to see that it was because I went into remission. That's why it didn't show up the second time.
You need to stay on top of them and ask for more testing. You shouldn't have to live in pain and sickness. Has the doctor given you any medication?
See if they'll give you an endocosopy, an upper and lower bowel follow through and blood work to test for not only the Crohns but also Celiac and H.Pylori. There's just so many things that could be going on. I guess the digestive system has so many things that can happen. Stay on top of them until you get the answers you need.
I wish you well. Take care and let us know how you're doing.
God bless,
April
