I have been told that I need to tell someone about my undiagnosed depression,  and it was suggested that I write a note to my favourite teacher explaining how I feel. Basically she is my biology teacher and knows everything about me, but I don't know what to write. Can anyone help?

Do not feel embarrassed about it.   IT is a chemical problem that can be resolved with medication.  See a psychiatrist though and not a general practitioner.     You will feel better I promise.    IF you want to write your teacher then that it great.  Just be honest.   Depression can be tough to talk about due to the stigma but I have had it my whole life and it will get better..............

First follow this technique for 3 days, twice a day. You will notice the depression will not bother you, and you will be able to write the letter. You can write about this forum and whatever else you want, but your thoughts will flow nicely. Continue the pranayam, and you will get back to your higher level.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.

Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close little flap of ears with thumb, place  index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Repeat this  5 to 21 times.

Just write to her exactly how you feel. Act like you are talking to a best friend. She sounds like a really nice person and someone who won't judge you. I can't tell you what to write because I don't know your feelings or your situation. It should be something that you write.
