Sometimes a break can cause it to work less good when you resume the med, either that or your depression is so severe right now its not helping enough? I think in general you can switch ssri's from one day to the next yes.Of course you need to discuss this with your doc Lily
hi george been to my doctor this evening and he wants me to have sum fasting blood tests done having them done on wednesday and hopefully we can go from there. thanks for your info
Sometimes the meds. we are prescribed fail after a year or two, others don't seem to work at all. But if you are not at your best & feeling that you are not coping with the meds. that you are on (which ones?) then there's a lot left to try. Maybe you can get one of the 'talking therapies, if your Doc. can arrange it. Relapses do happen, don't risk that by just quitting cold turkey. If you or anyone else does that it can increase the possibility of a relapse very quickly. Whoever prescribes your meds. is the one to discuss changes with. It can't be done online. You'll get support here, but no advice about switching drugs should be taken by anyone that's not medically qualified. Best wishes, George
