Circular Indentation on Face Under Nose

A few months ago, I developed a small circular indentation under my right nostril.  Since then, it has grown to the size of a nickel.  It is not red, but slight discoloured (although not noticeable to most people who see me on a daily basis).  I was not too worried, however, a few weeks ago, another circular spot appeared under my left nostril and it has since grown larger too.  They are hard to explain: they are only noticeable because they are indented and sometimes I feel an odd tingly sensation in those areas.  I have also noticed that it looks like hair has stopped growing in the spots.

My family doctor is not too worried, but she has referred me to a Dermatologist, however, being in Canada, I have to wait until September for my appointment.

Is this something that should be looked at sooner?

Hi,
I just read this post as I have exactly the same problem. Most people tell me they can't see anything, but I see and feel it, just as you described. I had a derm check it a few months ago and she said its nothing to worry about, but I'd like a 2nd opinion. I'm so curious to hear how your case worked out. Did the cream work??
Thanks!

I woke up with a small indented perfect circle on my chin two days ago. There wasn't any acne or anything there before it. Going to the dermo. I hope it goes away.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be pityriasis versicolor. It is a common skin infection caused by the yeast Malassezia furfur.

Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines. Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral.

If still the symptoms do not improve then pls get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
