Aloe vera shown effective for psoriasis
New research has found that aloe vera provided greater reduction in disease activity for people with plaque psoriasis than did topical steroids. This is potentially good news for the millions of people living with psoriasis

Hi,

There are quite a lot of treatments that are available & which you can find pretty useful on this site - http://www.mypsoriasistreatment.com

I myself was suffering from Psoriasis & my skin was under very bad condition because of which i was not really in good state of mind until i follow this Dead Sea Salts Treatment which is one of my favorites & which i followed regularly. No i got my psoriasis down to a good level.

Thanks really to the people who have done efforts to list down this treatment .

Hi - I have had psoriasis for some 35 yrs since I got Crohn's in my mid 20's.  I now have weekly injections of methotrexate for Crohn's but it is also used for severe psoriasis and it has helped tremendously. However, it is a cytotoxic drug which can be toxic to the liver,(I have monthly blood tests and am doing fine) and I doubt a dermatologist would prescribe it for a lady of 80 yrs old. The other treatment I used before mtx, was Silkis ointment (none greasy) but this also has to be prescribed by a registered physician. It did clear up a lot of lesions on my legs and trunk. It has no side effects, like mtx which is a systemic medication.  The active ingredient is calcitriol and the tube states "for the topical treatment of plaque psoriasis". I live in England, so there may be a different brand name other than Silkis in the USA (if that is where you are from), so Google calcitriol and see what you can find. Good luck, Liz.

I suffered from a brief period of scalp psoriasis.  I used a topical solution called BetaVal lotion, which is a clear liquid that is applied to the affected areas twice daily.  It cleared up my symptoms in a matter of days.  I occasionally get flare ups here and there but I use the BetaVal when this occurs which clears it up fairly quickly.  The best thing to do is talk to a dermatologist or search google for support forums that can offer information about over the counter treatments that work.  Good luck.
