Hello,
Emollients are moisturizers. Since the rash has been present for quite a long time, so it is advisable to confirm the diagnosis first and then start with the prescribed treatment. Treatment is specific for both and it is better to get an examination done from a dermatologist first so that a diagnosis can be made.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
delighted to hear from u.. awfully thanx..
i dont have the courage to show it to a doctor.. my girl is the only one who knew this til today.. because i am nt willing to show it to a doctor, she studyd about this..but shes small n very shy so i cant show it to her.. bt frm wat i told her she told me to reduce extensive wash n soaping.. she is not a doctor so she s scared to give me other cure methods like a particular drug or cream.. thats why i thought of getting online help.. im so glad to hear from you.. what are emollients? and wat do u mean by rule out posibilities like fungal infections? and the medicine you suggested,if i use it without doctor's prescription, will it give me side effects? please kindly help me out..
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be atopic dermatitis or lichen simplex chronicus. Lichen simplex chronicus is treated like chronic eczema by decreasing water and soap contact, and applying emollients. Topical steroids are almost always needed to control the symptoms. You can use mild steroid cream like Dermacort and if the symptoms persist then high potency steroids and oral steroids may be neededfor which a dermatologist’s prescription is needed. Also then get other possibilities like a fungal infection ruled out.
My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist to get the diagnosis confirmed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
