red bump on shaft of penis

Hello
I am 19 years old and i have had a red bump on the shaft of my penis for about a week and a half now. At first I thought it was just a pimple and I popped it. A little puss came out but the bump is still there. Before I had this red bump I had recently trimmed the hair around that region. Also, about 2-3 months prior I tried veet on that region, but no reaction occured after use. I am not sexually active and havent been for some time. Please help

Thanks

Hi,

Yes that does rule out genital warts.

From your description it does sound to be a pimple or folliculitis with probable secondary infection due to picking at the lesion.

Have you scheduled an appointment with your doctor as yet?

Hi,

This could be folliculitis, acne, pimples, fordyce spots or genital warts.

Nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions and a clinical examination.

Do you have any other associated symptoms?

You need to keep the areas clean and maintain good personal hygiene. Try to avoid picking at the lesions and trimming the hair in the region.
