Has Victoza helped anyone with weight loss?

I have Type 2 Diabetes and was put on Victoza yesterday, my doctor wants me to take this for weight loss.  I would just like to know if anyone has lost weight or has had any side effects while taking this medication.  I was on Byetta but the nausea never stopped and I felt bad all of the time.  I took my first dose this morning of Victoza and so far there has been no nausea--I just hope it lasts.  Any comments on this medication would greatly be appreciated.

Also---my doctor has put me on lisinopril even though I don't have high blood pressure, he said this is a ACE inhibitor and will protect my kidneys.  I have read BAD reviews on this medicine and I'm not sure what to do.  I told my doctor yesterday that I was leery about taking this, but he seems to think this is a good medication to take.

I've been on Victoza for 6 months and have lost 21 pounds. It has been a slow process, but it is because I have taken it slow to avoid the nausea. Instead of going from .6 to 1.2 all at once, I went one click at a time. I am now at 1.2 + 3 clicks. I have also found that avoiding peanut butter and peanuts helps. Other nuts not bother me. I also read about this from another Victoza user. The higher the dosage the better it suppresses my appetite. I never have seconds anymore. I am lucky to finish the first helping. My BS readings are always in the 100's now or lower. My A1C went down 2 points. I will have my blood work done again next month. Hope everything is still working properly.

To be honest, I have tried everything, low carb diet, atkins, etc.. Lost weight and gained it back. I am conisdered a nervous, eat due to stress kinda of girl. I recently went to my doctor continuing my concerns with my weight. Im tired of being obesed, you get more health issues due to obesity. I started Victoza September 12 and was 271. I have been working out 5-7 days a week and my doctor suggested 1200 calories, which was hard so my nurse convinced him to place me on 1400 cal. I am now down to 258. Victoza does have side effects and does cause nausea but what meds dont have side effects. Obesity is a bad diease which can cause death if untreated or we as individuals do something about it.. Just hope that the Victoza conitnues t help me accomplish my goal of 190.. Pray before every injection, god will protect u.. thx u and good luck to all..

See my previous posting so you can understand this posting. Today is Monday September 15th...and I have already lost 8 lbs since August 28th when I started taking Victoza. My blood sugars and my appetite has been greatly reduced since I started the 1.8 mg dose. In the beginning you may experience some nausea but it will eventually disappear. Today I will call my Gastric Bypass scheduler which scheduled my Gastric Bypass for October 6th, and I will cancel it. That is how great this medication has worked for me. ***Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, and I am not endorsing Victoza. I am just sharing my very personal experience with Victoza. You need to seek expert advice from endocrinologist. ****Sorry...but my primary physician who was managing my Diabetes Type 2 gave me medication for diabetes and told me to loose weight, but I couldn't because I was hungry. My hunger went away since my endocrinologist put me in 1.8 mg of Victoza.

We can not deny the fact that our metabolism slows down as we age. And no matter how much more we restrict our food intake or exercise, we just couldn't get our metabolism to work faster. I too, suffer from this, just like the many other women here.
Thankfully I have found Liproxenol which helped me bring my metabolism a few notches higher. I was so impressed with the result that I got that I recommended it to my friends.
I hope it works for you too.
