hyperthyroidism and pregnancy

I'm a 22 Years Old women who are almost 4 Moths pregnant, and just found that I'm Hyperthyroidism and might have a premature baby..when I hear this , it hurt me so much can't stop thinking about it and can't stop crying. I have read on the Interent that it's more likely for me to have a mentally and physically retarted child. Have anyone had this problem befor? If yes, how was your child? i'm taking proplythiouracil right now, it is already too late? will it still affect my baby?

OMG, I told u sweet girl, thing and prayers get answered. Have faith wee one, God will take good care of u and your baby. Just take care and take your medicine, get your test and don't miss your Dr. appt and if u have any problem ask your Dr or the Dr on here. I am so happy for u, and your DR. wouldn't lie, no worrys.... so 1/08 the sex will be known, hehee, I'm thrilled and excited for u, o a little boy a Mommys little buddy, and o a little girl, your little doll, all I can say is I have two of each and they were each so special and have left marks deep in my heart, and when I think back at the moments that u are experiencing they were so special for me too. Remember, get a Journal or a baby book that u can start writting to the baby, about the beginning of his or her life, even before he or she is born. I bought Journals for each of my babies and for many yrs everynight I wrote in each of them, and today they all have them to hold and read and cherish. Enjoy this day, and enjoy your holiday hold that picture close to your heart, frame it, or make a pillow and and slip it into the pic holder. So much u can do and it will last a lifetime, hugs sweetie, and tell your hubby I said congradulations :) Debbie

I sure will be looking for your sono results :) I am so glad the DR wrote to u, she makes us all feel better. She has helped my health so much, with understanding and compassion. A perfect DR. And do what she says, let the stress go, and enjoy this little bundle of joy. O I forgot to ask do u wish for a boy or girl? I think both are wonderful. I have two of each, all grown up 23,26,29, 30. I wish they were little still, it was the best part of my life. I loved being a Mommy, there is nothing in this world that matches the feeling. Hugs and my Prayers continued for u and your baby and husband. :)

Hi,
Congratulations on your new bundle-to-come :-)

This definitely is stressful and being told that you have a health problem that can affect your baby makes it a thousand times more so.  Try your best to not stress too much because that alone affects you and your little one as well.

Did they diagnose you with HYPER- or HYPO thyroidism?

In either case, treatments are quite good and  the important thing is that your doctors found it early so they can treat you. Many babies, in either case, are born just fine, even if they come a bit early. Be sure to have a consultation with an Endocrinologist and be followed frequently--this is not a time to lax off, be aggressive about your care! Your thyroid levels should be checked atleast every 4 weeks, esp with this recent diagnosis.

Take care and good luck to you. The odds are in your favor now that you have been diagnosed and are under care, so hang in there and many blessings to you and your family.

I will be thinking of u all week, how exciting, your first baby picture to share with everyone... I do hope u can let God handle all your worries, remember it is said TOMORROW IS ALREADY TAKEN CARE OF, and we are never given more than God knows we can handle..:) Stick close together, show God you and your husband have true Love between u and its the kind that nothing can break your soles that are mended together, God will see that, and put a beautiful Baby in your arms. Just believe everything has a reason, your health will mend, just take good care of your eating and tell your hubby to also, it makes healthy babies. I know u will be fine, please let me know how your sonogram goes, Debbie

Sweetie, try and relax, the stress of worring and crying your baby can sense and it can stress the baby too. I was told some 23 ys ago that my daughter had CP and her spine was growing outside of her neck. I gave it up to God. I said day after day she was fine and I would deal with what ever I had to. I was on four insulin shots and in and out of the hospital. At her birth were Dr's. of all kinds and ICU dr. and I was in a room with pump galore. She was born and she cryed and so did I and her Daddy and Grandpa. She was fine and perfect. Her blood sugar did drop but they fixed that. She has a Time lapse delayed problem. But she got the best education and we drowned her with Love and Laughter. She is so Loveable and so Happy and is Married and someday going to have babies. Hun, trust your Dr. and ask questions, and at your sonogram ask questions, your Baby and u will be in MY nightly Prayers...u both will be fine...have Faith, and be happy and strong, and your baby will be to. Just eat healthy and do all that u can do to keep yourself calm and happy. Debbie
