My 12 year old Pom has what seems to be exhausting coughing and hacking. We went from a cough suppressant pill to a liquid Butorphanol. Nothing seems to manage anything. He's in misery. Any other magic pill or treatment for relief. His coughing is so bad at night it keeps us up at night
I'm sorry your little guy is having coughing problems. Did your vet do any
testing for heart problems(?) X-ray or ultrasound to check his heart and
function? Any blood work done by your vet?
I had a 16 year old Chihuahua who started coughing and my vet did
find she was having heart problems she was on medication for her
heart and it helped her for another year...but Oreo was pretty well UP
there in age already when she started coughing...she crossed over at
17 years old.
IF it is the heart then cough medications did not seem work on it's own
and she coughed less with medication.
I DO NOT KNOW if it is heart problems the only one who can help you
with knowing this is your vet after testing him, I hope you find the answer
to your little guys problem...sorry there is not MAGIC pill out there on an
