burning in upper chest after sprinting

burning in upper chest after sprinting

Today was my first day back to full practice because i had hurt my knee and we did a lot of sprinting at the end.  About half way through, my upper chest area was burning and i started getting a little dizzy as well. This has never really happened to me before.  What could this be caused by and how can i prevent this?

Build up to the sprinting.  Much as you want to run full speed, give yourself a few weeks to go from say 80% to 100%.  The pain may be lactic acid ... in your heart from the rate you are trying to achieve.  Could also be straining in your lungs.  I remember having that years ago when I pushed myself when I was not quite in shape for what I thought I could do.
