my mother is 70 yrs. old and has been examination shows deviation of the lumbas vertebra towards the right, line of weight bearing falls anterior to S1. Intact pedicles. Intact intervertebral spaces.  Radiology's impression: dextroscoliosis, lumbar vertebra. consider pelvic instability. what does this mean?

Hi,

Dextroscoliosis  pertains to the curvature of the spine with convexity on the right side, which leads to unequal weight or pressure on the next vertebra or bone. Because of this, pelvic instability is considered, especially with your mother's age. This usually presents with pain that usually responds to over-the-counter medications. Have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper management. Take care and regards.
