lump on leg

ok,, ive been in sports all my life..but around three years ago i discovered a lump on my leg!! i wasnt scared or concernd at all because i thought it was just shin splints..but over the years i found that no matter if i stayed off my leg or even tried to rub the knott out it wouldnt go away!! so im getting a little scared what could this be??

Hi,

Where exactly is the lump? What is the size and consistency of the lump?
Has it increased in size over three years?
There are quite a few possibilities like a sebaceous cyst, varicose vein, ganglion, callus formation or even skin cancer.
I would suggest you to consult a doctor and get this lump evaluated.
